Sometimes, before we’re able to manifest, before we’re able to reach a goal, before we’re able to receive some kind of validation that we are indeed on the right path, we have to be ready and willing to tell a different story about ourselves.
If you see yourself as the person who always struggles with money, your struggle will likely continue.
If you see yourself as the person who can never seem to drop those 10 pounds, then chances are strong you won't.
The real story of what you see for yourself is the force that holds all the power to shape your life.
Wishes and wants and goals are great, but we are powerless to achieve something new if we're living from the same old story.
Before you set goals and start to put all kinds of pressure on yourself, take a few moments to reflect and get honest about the story you've been telling yourself (about yourself).
If you're not sure what your story is, take a look at how you talk to and treat yourself each day. Observe your daily habits. What you eat. How you choose to spend your time and money.
Who you spend your time with. How much space you make in your life to enjoy yourself. Take a look at all the ways you do or don't take care of yourself.
What we say and do each day is the outward reflection of the story about ourselves we believe to be true.
There's so much marketing hype going on right now in an effort to get you to buy into stuff that won't deliver the long-changing results you're hoping it will.
The quick-fix is so very seductive. It's tough to turn away from. I get it. I really do. But the fastest, most likely way to improve your life long-term is by taking the path that allows you to see the truth.
We don't reach the goal and then suddenly become the person we've always wanted to be. You will not suddenly love your life once you lose weight or make a ton of money. It never works that way.
The best chance you have for reaching your goals and creating the life you've always longed for are dependent upon your ability to change the story about yourself today.
What new story would you love to tell about yourself?
Moment by moment, choice by choice, to any degree you can, start to live the new story. Yes, it takes great courage and a true sense of self-worth. But every effort you make to live from the new story will be well worth it. This is how real, life-long transformation takes place.
